Vijaya Santi stunned the police by coming very near to the Assembly despite all the barricades. There was tension for a while as Vijaya Santi and police pushed each other.

Police arrested Kodandaram, employees leader Srinivas Goud and BJP workers at the Indira Park. Speaking to the media, Kodandaram has charged the government of murdering democracy. He faulted illegal arrests and detentions. Stating that they would continue their protests, Kodandaram said they would announce the future course of action on Saturday.

At the RTC cross roads, police took employees leaders into custody. As there was resistance, police used tear gas. At that time TRS leader Dr. Sravan fell down and fainted. He was rushed to the hospital in the 108 ambulance. Meanwhile, CPI (ML) New Democracy workers, Vimalakka and others were arrested by the police. People proceeding to Hyderabad were stopped at the borders of the districts of Telangana. However, common people who are to make urgent trips to Hyderabad were terribly inconvenienced.

At the Ravindra Bharati, TDP women MLAs of the Telangana region staged dharna and raised slogans. TDP MLAs were take into custody at the main gate of the Assembly, when they tried to block it. When police shifted the arrested MLAs to the Golkona police station, they held mock Assembly in the station.

Director and former union minister of state for coal and mines, Dasari Narayana Rao

Dasari suspected that there was disinformation campaign against him as part of a conspiracy to defame him. Stating that he was a ‘Bobbili Puli’ and not ‘Boggula Puli’, Dasari assured his fans that facts would soon come out and asked them not to be worried.

It may be recalled that the CBI has said that an amount of Rs.2.25 crore was transferred to a company owned by Dasari from the Jindal group, as a quid pro quo deal for the coal blocks he has sanctioned for it, violating the rules. CBI is charging that the Jindal group was sanctioned the coal mines on the basis of fake documents.
Apart from Dasari, CBI also named Congress MP Naveen Jindal, head of the group, as an accused in the case. It may be mentioned that the CBI conducted raids on Dsari’s his offices and residence on Tuesday. CBI which already questioned Dasari once earlier, conducted extensive searches at his office and residence on Tuesday. It is learnt that CBI has information that Dasari had done some out of the turn favours for the Jindal group when he was the union minister. Searches which the CBI started at Dasari’s places at around 6 am on Tuesday, continued till 3 pm. Dasari was not allowed to either move out or answer phones during the period, said reports. CBI sleuths reportedly seized some documents from Dasari’s residence and office.

Five coal blocks were sanctioned to the Jindal group of Navin Jindal, a Congress MP during Dasari’s tenure as minister. Santosh Bagrodia was also a minister of state of the department at the time, along with Dasari.

CBI registered cases under sections 120B, read with Sections 420 and 13 (1) (D). The agency has also registered cases against four companies of Delhi including Gagan Sponge Ltd and Jindal Steel and Power Limited and the Sowbhagya Media of Hyderabad. Dasari is a major stake holder of the ‘Sowbhagya Media’ which produces films and TV serials.

Cases against Dasari and Jindal were registered in connection with the allocation of coal blocks in Amarakonda Murgadangal of Jharkhand. It is being said that the Jindal group got the sanctions through false documents. It is being said that Dasari might be arrested any minute now.

It is learnt that he sought the help of the union minister Chiranjeevi and received a flak.

It may be recalled that the CBI found that Dasari had done undue favors to the Jindal group of companies and got investments into his Siri Media, in a quid pro quo operation similar to the one followed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

CBI initially stated that Dasari received Rs. 2.25 crore as an indirect kickback for allotting coal blocks to the Jindal group.

It is in this context that Dasari reportedly sought the help of Chiranjeevi, who expressed his helplessness. It is learnt that state ministers and close followers of Chiru, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and C Rama Chandraiah also refused to come to the rescue of Dasari.

It is being said that Chiranjeevi was hurt by the frequent criticism of his family by Dasari and this was the reason why he kept clear of Dasari’s problems.

The agency said in its memo that the two might tamper with evidence if allowed to remain outside. CBI also submitted CDs of the press conferences of the two, in which they said they were innocent and expressed confidence of coming out clean. Questioning how they could say they could come out clean when the matter was before a court, CBI argued that this amounted to contempt of the judiciary.

The CBI special court has adjourned hearing of CBI’s petition seeking the custody of former ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabita Indra Reddy to June 19.

The state government said since the march could lead to violence, no permission could be granted.

Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy has made it clear that the government can’t allow the ‘chalo assembly’ march. The minister, who is looking after home portfolio during the current assembly session, said if the JAC wants to hold a meeting on the city outskirts, the government may consider giving permission.

The ministers from Telangana had Tuesday urged Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to give permission for the ‘chalo assembly’. The chief minister, however, rejected the appeal, saying the rally could disturb the peace.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) once again appealed to the chief minister to allow the march. TRS legislators submitted a memorandum to Kiran Kumar Reddy in the state assembly on Wednesday.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Communist Party of India (CPI) have also requested the chief minister to allow the march.

TRS and BJP are constituents of JAC, which has vowed to go ahead with the march even if permission is not accorded.

AP high court took up for hearing, a petition seeking that the CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana should be continued in the state.

Admitting the petition, the high court directed the petitioner to state if the transfer of the JD would come under its purview.

The court directed the petitioner to file a supplementary petition within a week. It may be recalled that one Kutumba Rao, a journalist filed a petition in the high court, stop the transfer of Lakshmi Narayana and continue him here, until the Jagan assets case investigation was completed.

However, as Lakshmi Narayana’s 7 year deputation to the CBI was completed on June 10, he was relieved from the duty on Tuesday. Lakshmi Narayana assumed office in AP with the CBI in 2006. He handled high profile cases including the Satyam Computers, Vanpic, Emaar Properties and Jagan assets cases.

L.K. Advani Tuesday made peace with the party after the RSS intervened to end the BJP’s worst ever crisis.

The announcement was made at Advani’s residence by BJP president Rajnath Singh and other party leaders but the former deputy prime minister did not meet the media.

The apparent climb down by Advani reportedly came after the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat, persuaded him to reverse his decision to quit the national executive, the parliamentary board and the election committee.

“Today after noon, Mohan Bhagwat spoke to Advaniji and asked him to continue in the (party posts in) national interest,” Rajnath Singh said. “Advaniji has decided to accept Bhagwatji’s advise.”

Rajnath Singh’s statement was a tacit admission that the BJP, which Advani helped found in 1980 along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, had failed to win him over after he resigned from the party posts for ignoring his concerns and naming Narendra Modi as head of the election campaign committee.

The BJP decision, made Sunday at a party conclave in Goa which Advani did not attend, would have made the Gujarat chief minister the Bharatiya Janata Party’s face in the Lok Sabha election due in 2014.

Immediately after Advani quit the party posts and accused most party leaders of pursuing “personal agendas”, the BJP brass trooped to his house in the heart of the capital but he refused to budge.

Rajnath Singh had declared Monday that Advani’s resignation from party posts would not be accepted.

“On behalf of the party, I assured Advaniji that his concerns regarding the functioning of the party would be addressed and I will discuss the modalities of addressing these concerns with him,” said Rajnath Singh, one of the most vocal backers of Modi.

The BJP president was flanked by Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari and other senior leaders.

More than the resignation, what hit the BJP badly was Advani’s stinging allegation in his resignation letter that the BJP was no more the “same idealistic party”.

It is learnt that the CBI was suspecting a transfer of Rs. 2.25 crore from the Jindal group to a company owned by Dasari for favours received when the latter was the union minister incharge of coal.

Five coal blocks were sanctioned to the Jindal group of Navin Jindal, a Congress MP during Dasari’s tenure as minister. Santosh Bagrodia was also a minister of state of the department at the time, along with Dasari.

Cases against Dasari and Jindal were registered in connection with the allocation of coal blocks in Amarakonda Murgadangal of Jharkhand. It is being said that the Jindal group got the sanctions through false documents.

He was not allowed to either move out or answer phones during the period, said reports. CBI sleuths reportedly seized some documents from Dasari’s residence and office.

Kiran Kumar Reddy to give permission for Friday’s “chalo assembly” march called by Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC).

The chief minister pointed out during the meeting that such protests in the past led to violence. He, however, assured the ministers that he would talk to senior police officials in this regard before taking any decision.

Earlier, leaders of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Communist Party of India (CPI) called on the chief ministers and submitted a memorandum, seeking permission to conduct the march.

The leaders of the three parties assured the chief minister if the march was permitted, they would ensure its peaceful conduct.

TRS legislator Harish Rao said they were ready to take responsibility if police permission was granted for the protest. He said the government should give permission by Wednesday.

The leaders of the three parties and the JAC have condemned the arrests of pro-Telangana leaders in various districts of the region. They alleged that police were trying to suppress a democratic movement by arresting dozens of leaders and activists.

JAC, comprising several pro-Telangana groups, has called for ‘chalo assembly’ to press the demand that a resolution for formation of separate Telangana state be passed during the current budget session of the state assembly.

The chief minister has already turned down the demand, saying the issue is in the hands of the central government.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said there was no permission for the march and warned that action would be taken against those trying to violate prohibitory orders around the assembly building.
