Morethan 200 kids around the Washington,DC area participated and performed their dance skills.

Tollywood talent includes Actress-Ankita , Singers Ranina Reddy & Dinker and special mimicry performance by Mimicry Ramesh. Because of the over whelming response from the audience, the closing time was extended until midnight.

Dil Raju was the chief guest at the recently convened meetings of American Telugu Association. During a meet regarding the development of AP state, many NRI biggies have stated that Government is failing to control the fluoride problem in Nalgonda. Our producer has grabbed the mike all of a sudden and stated that everyone should stop blaming others for halting development.

‘We should not blame someone for failure of development. We have to think how much we have done for the sake of solving that problem’, advised Dil Raju. Spectators at the convention have filled the auditorium with claps for next five minutes.

It is heard that this producer is spending huge money to build fresh-water purification plants in Nalgonda. If all the Telugu NRIs donate few bucks to solve this problem, there will not be any fluoride affected children in the district for sure.

Smt.Sravanthi Sadanala, guru of Carnatic Music: Smt.Sravanthi Sadanala daughter of Sri.S.Krishna and Smt.S.Revathi from Hyderabad AP. After marrying  Sri.Devender Sadanala she moved to USA in 1998 and is currently is  residing in Clarksville, Maryland, USA, she blessed with daughter Harshini ( 8 yrs) and Gaurav Rey ( 2 yrs ). Academically she holds  Bachelors Degree in Commerce and Bachelors Degree in Company Law from Osmania University Hyderabad AP. Since her childhood she is very passionate in Carnatic Music. She learnt music under the  under the guidance of Sri. Chandra Sekara Venkatachary and holds Diploma in Music. She gave programs in various places in USA. For the sake of her daughter Harshini she started teaching music in year 2011. Through word of mouth her students increased day by day and currently she has over 75 students learning Carnatic music. Her students include from 4 yrs to 40 yrs old. With the interest shown by students in Clarksville, Maryland and other cities including Columbia, Ellicott City, Elkridge, Laurel & Catonsville, though she is a working for past 11 years, she has dedicated herself to teaching Carnatic music with absolute commitment. Since students are born and brought up in USA, almost all of her student cannot speak their mother tongue ( Telugu, Tamil, Kannada or Malayalam) but can sing beautifully without any problem in pronunciation. She is very happy to see the dedication of the kids towards Carnatic Music. It is amazing to see parents dedication towards our Culture especially Carnatic Music and some are driving from for more than 30 minutes to make their  kids attend classes. By Gods Grace, Wish and Will, she hopes to continue to do her best.

NATA new website features very user-friendly home page with a newspaper style layout. NATA intends to extensively promote Telugu language to children of Telugu origin in the United States – so that they can read and write in Telugu as second language.

Telugu Slate - An interactive telugu educational app

This is the age of smart phones and tablets, which drives interactive mobile app in every corner of the life. Particularly, iPhone and iPad are significant players (iOS) in this sector. These smart phones and tablets have special hardware capabilities such as MEMS, Gyros and high range (front and backfacing)cameras that can let these devices behave quite closer to humans with touch, direction, orientation and retinal graphics display.

Education sector is utilizing the advent of such technologies for making learning intuitive, interactive and fun-filled. Tablets such as iPad are letting children learn languages, alphabets and advanced mathematics just like playing a game with a touch of a finger. There are many interesting educational apps available, but most of them are for learning English.

Here is a new iPad educational app – “telugu slate” by Krify Software Technologies Private Limited. Its the first telugu app which helps children to learn alphabets very interactively. Treditionally, children use slates and papers for writing and learning letters. Telugu Slate (also called Telugu Palaka) present list of alphabets where each alphabet is associated with a character such as an animal icon for example. Once a character is selected, the slate displays the details of that character, how to write that character with arrow directions and interactive sound to help learning it and practicing it. It also presents four different colors to choose.

Screenshots of slate can be emailed or can be saved in the photo-gallery of the iPad for review in the later stage.

NATA Regional Vice President (North) Mr. Bharath Reddy Madadi welcomed all and thanked everyone for attending and participating in the tournament.
