Congress Party support Separate Telangana: CM
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy reiterated that Congress party is not against the formation of Telangana state, to pacify the TRS Activists who raised slogans in support of the Statehood during a public meeting in Chinnagottimukkala village in Medak district.
“We are not against Telangana. None of them in my government has opposed to the bifurcation of state. The central government is making efforts to resolve this critical issue. The state government would implement the decision of the Centre, whatever it might be,” said Kiran Kumar Reddy.
The Chief Minister stated that the state will soon make an agreement with Maharashtra government with regard to the Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project. He also reminded that the state government is mounting pressure on the Centre to declare Pranahita-Chevella as a national project.
“The Pranahita-Chevella project costs around Rs.38,000 crore, which was proposed to irrigate over 16 lakh acres in seven Telangana districts. We have already appealed to the Centre to provide the financial assistance for the project,” he told.
