Vijay sai Reddy Wants Special Status in Jail
Jagathi Publications vice-chairman and auditor Vijay Sai Reddy, who was arrested by the CBI in the disproportionate assets case of YS Jagan, has filed a petition in the special court seeking permission for special class prisoner status in the Chanchalguda Jail.
Vijay Sai Reddy stated in his petition that he is highly educated and also an Income Tax assesse having paid an income tax of Rs 5 lakh as an individual and Rs 20 lakh from his firm. The disgraced auditor also claimed that he is habituated to superior mode of living.
However, the CBI special court on Wednesday postponed the hearing on the petition to January 17.
Vijay Sai Reddy was booked as N0.2 accused in the illegal assets case, while Jagan is the N0.1 accused.
Vijay Sai Reddy started his career as a chartered accountant and he now owns assets worth over Rs. 1,000 crore. Initially, he started a firm named ‘VS Reddy and Associates’ along with some partners, later worked as director of the Oriental Bank of Commerce, key member in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board during YSR’s tenure as Chief Minister and Vice-chairman & Auditor of Jagati Publications.
After preliminary investigation, the CBI has confirmed that the Kadapa MP and YSR Congress president YS Jagan amassed huge wealth by misusing his father’s office between 2004 and 2009.
